Today we watched all of the media projects in class. Most of them had a great exigence. The controversies that were choosen to be presented were very relevant to the lives of college students. As we get older, we need to become more well-rounded and knowledgable about that issues that are occuring throughout the world and our community, so all of the issues that were discussed in the video projects had a lot more of an impact now that we are on our own and more responsible.
The way the issues were presented were very successful for most of the videos. I thought they used a great combination of both pictures and text and audio, for the most part, so it kept your attention throughout the entire video. Sometimes a few of the images were a little distracting because I wasn't exactly sure how they related to what the audio of the video was. Also a some points the images had words on them that distracted from the audio because as you tried to read what the image said you weren't listening as closely to the audio.
This same thing happened with the music that was played at different points in the videos. I really liked the music choices of a lot of the groups because it created the right mood for what they were saying in their videos. The only issue I found with the music at times was that when it was played as background while someone's interveiw was also being shown, it kind of distracted from what the person was saying. At times the music was too loud to be background. When the music was played on slides that just had words though it was extremely efffective. Overall the videos were great!

I loved watching the videos and seeing how each group interpreted the assignment. You are right though - it was difficult to hear some of the audio with the music playing. Nevertheless, I don't think that they made it too distracting and I loved how, overall, the music and visuals helped to aid the overall message.

ReplyDeleteThe videos were all really good! You all are right, though, with the fact that some of the music/audio was a little distracting. However, for most of us, this was our first video project. With that being considered, I think we all did great :)
ReplyDeleteThe videos were sweet, I was blown away by some of them. I'm glad we had the project ultimately, it really made me comfortable with iMovie, and with annoying Gabbo constantly.
